He was leading a photowalk at The Maidan and he is, in person, everything he appears to be on-line. That is to say he is kind and humble, gracious with his time and genuinely interested in helping others.
He is another of those artists who blend genres with their photography. It's part street, part travel, a little landscape, and then ....

it's all seasoned with a pinch of documentary observation... and it's wonderful.
A true artist, he is not afraid to experiment and he doesn't allow himself to get bogged down into any photography ruts. He has paid his dues and I've seen him evolve as an artist. I hope that evolution will continue indefinitely.

Unveiling the beauty of life in striking black and white, Exploration is a captivating coffee table book by acclaimed photographers Deb Lahiri and Raj Sarkar. This collection, launched at the historic Oxford Bookstore in Kolkata, features 98 remarkable photographs that celebrate the essence of human moments and street photography. This event was graced by the presence of renowned film directors Gautam Ghosh and Professor Ashoke Viswanathan.

Renowned Magnum photographer and Padma Shri awardee Raghu Rai, who penned the foreword, describes the authors’ unique vision as “two parallel winds” that capture life’s raw emotions with depth and authenticity.
