A unique exhibition showcasing North Kolkata’s rich heritage through black-and-white photography by students under the guidance of Deb Lahiri and Rajib De.
Window Photography School, in collaboration with Hara Kutir Rajbari, proudly presented the photography exhibition “From the Streets to the Souls of Heritage.” Held from October 2nd to 12th, the exhibition celebrated North Kolkata’s cultural legacy through the black-and-white photographs of emerging photographers mentored by founders Deb Lahiri and Rajib De. This showcase offered visitors a meaningful connection to heritage through the visual narratives of talented artists.

The inauguration of the heritage exhibition was marked by the presence of eminent photographers and dignitaries, celebrating cultural richness.
The grand inauguration on Mahalaya Day featured eminent photographers Lopamudra Talukdar, Raj Sarkar, Bhaskar Kundu, and others, alongside distinguished dignitaries. The event celebrated the transformation of a non-traditional space into a well-furnished gallery, showcasing North Kolkata’s heritage and culture to widespread acclaim.

Students Neha Sharma and Chiranjit Das participated in the prestigious “City of Joy” exhibition at NCPA, Mumbai.
Neha Sharma and Chiranjit Das, students of Window Photography School, had the honor of participating in the prestigious “City of Joy – Kolkata” photography exhibition at NCPA, Mumbai. The exhibition, curated by Mukesh Parpiani, featured works by 36 renowned photographers, including Bijoy Chowdhury and the Late Tarapada Banerjee. Neha and Chiranjit have been exemplary students since 2023, representing the school’s dedication to fostering exceptional talent.

Window Photography School was privileged to host the eminent photographer Raj Sarkar for an inspiring mentoring session. Raj shared his incredible journey in photography, recounting the milestones and challenges that defined his career.
During the session, he engaged with students by sharing valuable anecdotes, moments of inspiration, and the lessons learned throughout his professional life. He emphasized the significance of perseverance, creativity, and developing a unique voice in photography. Raj encouraged students to explore diverse genres, experiment with new techniques, and, above all, never stop learning and growing.
The session was highly interactive, with students posing thoughtful questions and expressing their aspirations. Raj’s insights and passion for photography left a profound impact on everyone present.
