22nd November 2024 - Launch of "Refraction: Seven Perspectives - One Spectrum"

“Refraction: Seven Perspectives – One Spectrum,” a collaborative masterpiece by seven renowned photographers, was unveiled at the esteemed World Photo Carnival 2024.

The much-anticipated coffee table book, “Refraction: Seven Perspectives – One Spectrum,” was unveiled at the prestigious World Photo Carnival 2024, hosted by Retro Kolkata at Nazrul Tirtha, New Town, Kolkata. This remarkable publication brings together the creative visions of ace photographers, including Dinesh Khanna, Lopamudra Talukdar, Bhaskar Kundu, Sabyasachi Talukdar, Deb Lahiri, Raj Sarkar, and Manish Khattery.

Attended by renowned personalities like Navin Vatsa, Jhuma Datta, Soumya N. Ghosh, Sounak Banerjee, and Sandipan Mukherjee, the event celebrated a confluence of diverse styles, capturing life, culture, and emotion in extraordinary imagery. “Refraction” is more than a book—it’s an immersive visual experience.

17th - 19th November 2024 - Exploring Italy’s Scenic Streets During Livorno Photo Meeting

An enriching experience of exchanging ideas during photo walks in Livorno, Florence, and Pisa alongside global photography talents.

During the Livorno Photo Meeting 2024, Raj Sarkar and I participated in enriching photowalks across Livorno, Florence, and Pisa. This international gathering brought together talented photographers from across Europe, creating opportunities for the exchange of ideas, techniques, and creative inspiration.

The event served as a platform for showcasing our coffee table book, “Exploration,” and interacting with a global audience, making it an unforgettable experience of cultural and artistic exchange.

2nd September 2024 - A Memorable Day with Shri Raghu Rai

A memorable day presenting our book draft to Shri Raghu Rai, gaining his blessings and insightful guidance.

Meeting the legendary Magnum photographer and Padma Shri awardee Shri Raghu Rai was an unforgettable moment for Raj Sarkar and me. Visiting his residence to present the draft of our photography book, “Exploration,” was both nerve-wracking and inspiring.

Shri Raghu Rai meticulously reviewed our 98 black-and-white photographs, offering invaluable insights and endorsing our work with his warm words: “Aapka pictures mein dum hai” (Your work is worth publishing). He graciously agreed to write the foreword and even suggested the book’s title, “Exploration.” This interaction remains a cherished milestone in our creative journey.

17th July 2024 - Interactive Session at Sister Nivedita University

An interactive session with students, presenting “Unity in Festivity” and sharing the joy of mentoring budding photographers.

It was an honor to share my experiences and photographs with the students of Sister Nivedita University. The interactive session highlighted my recent project, “Unity in Festivity,” which portrays reciprocal identical photos of Durga and Ganesh idol immersions in Kolkata and Mumbai.

Special thanks to Sneha Paul and her team for organizing this insightful event and for their dedication to nurturing young photographic talents.

28th July 2024 - Mentoring a Photowalk with Passion 8 Photography Group

A storytelling photo walk in North Kolkata under my mentorship, culminating in a rewarding photography contest.

Under my mentorship, Passion 8 Photography Group organized a vibrant photowalk through the streets of North Kolkata. Starting from Minerva Theatre and concluding at Nimtala Ghat, the walk focused on capturing the storytelling essence of North Kolkata’s heritage.

Participants showcased exceptional talent, and I had the privilege of reviewing their photographs on the spot. Later, I judged submitted works and awarded prizes to the most compelling images.

Panel Discussion & Judging at JUPC’s Montage24

Delighted to be part of the panel discussion on “The Essential Role of Critics” and judge exceptional works at JUPC’s Montage24.

Sharing the stage with eminent personalities for a panel discussion on “The Essential Role of Critics in the Evolution of Visual Arts” at the Academy of Fine Arts was a deeply enriching experience. The event, organized by the Jadavpur University Photographic Club (JUPC), marked the 60th anniversary of their creative legacy.

I also participated in judging the photography competition, “Montage24,” which received an overwhelming response. Congratulations to the winners and heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their exceptional submissions.

20th April 2024 - Presentation of "Unity in Festivity" at ICCR

Presented “Unity in Festivity,” a visual narrative of Kolkata and Mumbai, at Earth Photography Group’s annual exhibition.

As part of the annual exhibition hosted by Earth Photography Group at ICCR, I presented my work, “Unity in Festivity,” a visual narrative capturing Durga and Ganesh idol immersions in Kolkata and Mumbai. The evening resonated with applause from photography enthusiasts and esteemed photographers in attendance.

The event was a celebration of creativity, camaraderie, and artistic dialogue, making it an unforgettable highlight of the year.
